Now I know that most of our discussions hear revolve around ponds and pond algae. But I don’t want you to think that I’m obsessed with it. Well OK, maybe I am obsessed with algae, but I have other interests too!
Seriously though, things have slowed down a bit in the realm of pond algae and since the holidays are upon us, it reminded me that I need to get a few gifts for some outdoor friends and bird feeders have long been one of my favorite gifts to give. I received one many years ago when I had a small backyard and not much “nature” to look at, but it gave me such joy seeing all kinds of birds come into the feeder that I’ve been giving them away ever since. It was one of the best gifts I know I’ve ever gotten. (Note to wife: This does not rule out a new IPad honey!)
Anyway in my yearly testing of new feeders I picked up one called The Effortless Bird Feeder and just love it. I got the hanging model and since one of my stations is about 8 feet high (to keep deer out of my seed) this design makes it really easy to refill and clean. There’s a free-standing model too which would work good on a flat surface.
Now this may not fit everyone’s interest of course but if your looking for a new feeder for yourself or as a gift for someone else, check this one out, I think you’ll enjoy it.
